If you are here today, regardless of whether or not you read my blog daily, or just happened upon it, please leave me a comment. I'd like to know who visits.
Here are a few questions to answer for me....
How did you get here? Another blog? Am I in your reader? Did you google something crazy like ketchup in goulash? (That brings a lot of people over.)
What is your position on babies and pacifiers?
What is your favorite television show and why?
What is your favorite song at the moment?
I will answer my own questions. I had/have a blog on another site. No, you can't read it....but I began blogging here after reading Catherine Newman's blog
I am not a fan of the paci. At all. My kids never used them. (Cait sucks on her blankie though) Ed and I both felt strongly about not shoving a plug in our child's mouth, which is not to say that is what most parents do, but you have to admit, it's out there. I have a hard time seeing a 4-year-old with a binky as well. It drives me nuts.
Favorite TV show.....right now? How I Met Your Mother. I love it like no other. And also Samantha Who, it's very smart and funny.
Favorite Song at the moment: Matchbox 20, Let's See How Far We've Come. LOOOVE It!! It's so catchy. A bit trendy fr my usual taste, but like I said, LOOOOVE IT!
Ok, so please de-lurk. All of you!

Grrr... sending this comment again because my last one went *poof*
Anyway, in answer to your questions:
I can't remember how I first got here, but I believe we bonded over Tim Hortons!
Paci - didn't use one for any of my kids. BUT, they are now recommended as effective in decreasing the incidence of SIDS, so I would likely offer any subsequent children one for bedtime only.
Show - Dexter. I just love this show.
Music - 1234 by Feist
I can't remember how I got here. The Flying Mum?
Pacifiers - I used to be all judgy about them, and then K. was a total addict. E. never used one.
Show - Heroes. But it will have competition when Lost starts again.
Music - Not a single song, but: George Winston's December CD.
Can't remember how I got here either, maybe Swistle? You are in my Reader.
Paci-AD wouldn't take one but I would have TOTALLY used it if she did. I'm all for anything that comforts if not harmful.
Show-The Office
Music-I suck at music and have no answer here. I always find stuff about 5 years after everyone else.
Ok - trying again
I got here I believe through a comment you left on mine and now I'm here daily - you are on my reader
pacifiers - O never wanted one. at first I was a little anti-paci and then we went through a period where I tried to get him to take one so he would maybe sleep. so somewhere in the middle I guess
show - the office just because it makes me laugh
music - i like bed by j. holiday because it gets stuck in my head when I hear it on the radio but overall my favorite right now would have to be I'm your man by Michael Buble
I believe I followed you over from a comment at Swistle's place. Now I have you on my Google Reader.
My son uses a pacifier (only at night now and we plan to nix that soon). I don't like kids who have them all the time, but I was prepared to use one with Zachariah. I like pacifiers better than thumb sucking (very gross and unsanitary and you can't take it away). Using a pacifier got my son to get himself to sleep, and I love that. I will offer it to future babies if they're interested. (Oh, and my son started on one when he was a few days old. The nurses in the special care nursery gave it to him when he had a tube down his throat. It gave him something to suck on so the tube didn't bug him.)
"ER" used to be my favorite, but I'm a little so-so with it now. I love the new show "Big Bang Theory" and "Private Practice".
No favorite song. Probably all the Christmas music we're practicing for choir.
Sorry for the LONG comment.
You de-lurked on MY blog first (upstate NYers UNITE!)--but basically I know you through Swistle.
Pacifiers: I was adamentally against them--but baby #1 HAD to have one, and I HAD to have some sleep. We managed to break her of it by 20 mos. Baby #2 REFUSED to take one (and by then I was COUNTING on it--augh!), but we survived. Baby #3 only used it until 4 mos old. She started sucking two of her fingers at the SAME moment she started teething--and we haven't broken her of it yet (she's three in 6 days). It SUCKS (er, no pun intended), but there was just NO breaking her of it! But at least she only does it now when she's sleepy/cuddly.
Favorite TV show currently is Desperate Housewives. I also like Grey's Anatomy (except for LAST season).
Favorite song currently is "Soul Meets Body by Death Cab for Cutie. I just don't listen to the radio much now that I don't have that commute back and forth to work!
Hi, it's me.
1) I can't remember how I found you. Maybe you found me? Anyway, now you are in my RSS reader.
2) I'm in favor of things that give babies comfort.
3) Right now...um...let's see. I guess probably my favorite TV show is Angel. But my favorite is whatever series I'm working my way through at the moment.
4) Favorite song right now is that one by Daft Punk, what is it called? Better Stronger Faster...somethin.
Okay....de-lurking here.
1. I found you through a comment on Mommy Daisy's blog. You are on my RSS feeder.
2. Pacifiers - #1 gave it up at 5 months and has become a serious nail biter (no idea if it's related, but thought it was worth mentioning); #2 is 12 months and addicted to it. The pedi wants him off of it by 15 months, but it's such a naptime/bedtime comfort (and that's the only time he gets it), I may just have disobey the pedi on this one.
3. Too hard! But I never miss How I Met Your Mother, Heroes or the Office (even though I cover my eyes through half of it since I'm embarrassed for the Steve Carrell character).
4. Currently it's "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie. But that's the only song of hers I like.
P.S. You can find me at http://jana-lozado.livejournal.com
Got here via your comment on Pickles and Dimes.
Both my kids refused pacifiers even though I tried. My daughter went on to be unsoothable and difficult to put to sleep to this day. My son started sucking his fingers instead. He's a dream to put to sleep and soothe, but I'm dreading the fact that I can't take his fingers away when he turns 2 in March.
Believe it or not, I don't really watch enough TV to have a favorite. If the schedules worked out better and/or I had DVR and/or my computer played online video better, I would probably pick Big Bang Theory or Scrubs, but I get tired of all the sex humor.
No favorite song, but my favorite band is CAKE.
i just came here for the first time (possibly from Jess), but i love questions.
pacifiers - no real comment. i just hate when i see a 5 yr old with one. silly and unnecessary
show - Life. best show you are probably not watching, and the Office.
Music - anything by jack johnson. oh and rihanna.
Hi - not even lurking - it's my first visit. I had to come and comment, though, because "Bat out of Hell" would be one of my three CD choices too! (in answer to the flying mum's question!)
Hi! :) I'm your COUSIN. and I don't remember how I found your blog - possibly via myspace or something :)
do I have to answer the questions??? I'm too tired to even remember what they were. haha.
I don't have kids so I don't have much of an opinion about pacifiers. The only thing I do know about them is I hate when people call them binkies. I don't know why, it just bugs me.
I love Grey's Anatomy, even though it's dumb. and getting dumber. All-time, I love Friends.
I don't know about the music. I have been listening to lots of random different stuff lately.
i got here because you found me somehow and i read your post..i believe the first one was about ducks.
i dont like pacifiers...for the stupid reason that they detract from the beautifulness of your baby, plus i hate weening.
favorite tv show...eek, ummm csi, cold case, numbers, with out a trace, iron chef america, top chef, hells kitchen...i should stop now
oooh umm britney spears gimme more...i feel like such a dork for admitting that
I think I got here from Catherine's.
We like our "chewies" at our house. Now Jelly Bean only uses it when sleeping at night. We really should start to wean him off of it at night...but it comforts him so much. I don't *think* he would protest too much. But it is my own weakness. I wish I had something that worked for me the way that works for him. I figure it will be gone before the new year.
Show? I like to watch Reba because it makes me laugh. And it comes on everyday. Other than that? I never really watch TV. When am I supposed to do that?
Song? Probably the Cuppy-Cake song. Or maybe the soundtrack from the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I seem to be singing that a lot lately.
Yes, weird, I know.
